St. Patrick's Day: 4th Annual Green Eggs & Spam

For the past three years, we have kicked off St. Patrick’s Day celebrations with our most popular event: Green Eggs and Spam. Our resident and friend, Matt, is a Hormel representative and is a key player in helping us plan the event- which is full of green eggs, sausage, biscuits, mimosas and much more. The St. Patrick’s Day event is for all current residents, past residents, friends and anyone else who’d like to participate in some neighborly fun!

In the past years we’ve hosted the brunch in our clubroom. This year for our 4th annual event we knew there would be a bigger turnout so we took it to a favorite neighborhood hotspot, Bar Louie. It was a huge success! We were able to raise over $1,000 for The Sing Me a Story Foundation and of course we ate plenty of green eggs and spam.

At Pine Street Flats, we emphasis the idea of community by supporting our residents and neighbors. Matt has been a PSF for almost 4 years. His favorite part about being a resident? The community feel for young professionals.

“I have made a lot of friends and made a lot of Nashville memories living in the heart of the city – the Gulch.”

The idea for Green Eggs and Spam was inspired by a tradition that Matt started: whenever he moved to a new city he would throw a party to meet new people. At the time, no one had anything to do that weekend for St. Patrick’s Day; so he presented the idea to Pine Street Flats. And it has been a community event ever since.

This year we were happy to be raising donations for The Sing Me a Story Foundation. For more information on their mission, please visit www.singmeastory.org.  And be sure to look for event pictures on our Facebook and Instagram pages!
